New apartment, new cupboards

So we are back. After two months in Holland, the UK and Mexico, we are back for at least 6 months in New York. We have moved sides. Now we are on the West side of Central Park. Thomas remembers it all. He talks about living uptown, on the west side where Anna used to live and going for coffee (pronounced 'quaffee'). The new apartment is very different as we have moved from a basement now to the 31st floor with magnificent views over the city. It's also a lot bigger and a bit of a maze.  Jasper was not impressed with that the first day or so as he kept losing mummy! He was very clingy so not very helpful for a mum who wants to unpack the few things she does have to make the apartment feel more homely. A few days indoors seem to have helped and now they have discovered the cupboards. There a 6 'walk in' cupboards in our 3 bedroom apartment. I say 'walk in' as the estate agent would maybe not have described it this way but the boys have decided they are. This morning it was time for hide and seek which went on for a while with 6 cupboards! This afternoon they are setting up their beds inside the cupboards. In the old days in the Netherlands we used to have people sleep in cupboards called 'bedstede' so it's very sweet to see this. Obviously Thomas is bossing Jasper around and makes him play his part in these games. I do love seeing them roleplay like this and hope they will settle quickly. Next step is a new nanny and some small friends!
